  1. Multi Professional Learning Organisation Progress for 2009 Kegworth, Church Walk, Church Street and Kirkby Community Primary Care Centre.

  2. Our plan In 2008 CNCS in partnership with Orchard Surgery, Kegworth, Church Walk, Eastwood and Church Street, Eastwood set out to develop multi professional learning within our practices. CNCS planned to recruit a coordinator to arrange placements and set up processes to ensure health care professionals experienced a good placement with plenty of opportunities for learning.

  3. Current situation May 2009 – MPLO coordinator commenced work June 2009 – Discussion with School Of Nursing (SON) regarding placements for CNCS July 2009 – Development of foundation doctor placement rota August 2009 – Audit by SON for placement approval successful September 2009 – Development of training opportunities for health care professionals.

  4. Challenges for the coordinator What is MPLO Contacts outside of CNCS for support Learning curve for those with no experience of NHS – jargon Complexity of starting a training practice from scratch. – no easy guide to refer to

  5. Moving forward Work has begun with Eastwood practices to develop learning opportunities for health care professionals and those working in general practice. In time the coordinator will work more closely with the Kegworth practice to support them with placements.

Partnership working Summaries of work in progress E-health scope Using a web based share point – exchange ideas and working practices amongst Practice Managers Using IT as central repository for information exchange of Practice Management.
