What You Can (& Should) Do • Be orderly and linear in presenting material • Be sure images that convey information have Alt tags • For video or audio, add captions or transcripts, either for downloading, or as part of the course site. • Make any text material actual text. Don’t scan text and present the “picture” of the text as content.
On-Campus Resources • The Disabled Students Services lab is a great place to find out if your materials are working with adaptive tech • The High Tech Center Training Unit offers terrific trainings for free. • FGA has resources available through the Faculty Support pages. • And don’t forget the government pages:www.section508.gov/
Summary • Consider Universal Design the objective, not a special accommodation. • Use your resources • Try to get in the habit of using the guidelines you’ve learned • Help create a world where inclusion is just how things are.
