  2. HELPFUL HINTS • Write KEYWORDS and FORMULAE in a notebook to revise. • Draw LARGE DIAGRAMS with labels for practice every week. • Make FLASHCARDS. • Get a STUDY BUDDY to QUIZ you. • Memorise using SPELLING TIPS STEPS. • Use SQ3R to study chapters or NOTES.

  3. LEARN FROM MISTAKES • Do CORRECTIONS on copies/papers returned by teachers. • Check your learning: JOT DOWN ALL YOU KNOW COMPARE WITH THE BOOK LEARN THE CORRECTIONS FAST JOT AGAIN

  4. REMEMBER WELL • Make up a SONG/CHANT/RAP • Use MNEMONICS and memory tricks. • For example: “Silly old Harry caught a herring trawling off America” = the rules for trigonometry – sin, tan & cos. • Design MINDMAPS/SPIDERGRAMS. • Revise every week, a little at a time.

  5. HOMEWORK and STUDY • Written homework is an average of 2 hours per night. • Turn OFF mobiles + music + TV. • Do homework in exam conditions or in study hall. • Attempt all parts of the assignment. • Study is learning off by heart and checking that you know it. • REVISION is at least 1 hour at night and 6 hours at weekend.

  6. PLAN TIMETABLE • Fill the study/ revision TIMETABLE for the week, month, or term. • Revise early before exams. • Get exercise, good meals and sleep. • Ask questions in class. • Request help from teacher or counsellor. • Be on time to exams and try YOUR BEST.
