On May 25th, 2008, an agreement was reached between the Mbandaka Post and the Christian Church in Indiana. They would be Partners in Mission for the next 5 years.
At the Regional Assembly in September, 2012, the agreement was extended for another 5 years.

The Church in Mbandaka has had a fruitful program during this fifth year of the partnership. An outdoor 3-day worship service was attended by over 1000 people.
The celebration of a pastor’s marriage in Bobanga and other parish visits required long trips upriver.
The Nganda Kinshasa parish raised $2500 to purchase a 10 hp motor, which will be a big help to this fishing village.
Mbandaka parishes have begun to observe a “Day of Compassion” in February. This year they raised and sent $325 to the Week of Compassion office in the USA.
Microcredit groups enable many, especially women, to earn money to support their families, raising their standard of living. The number of groups is increasing rapidly. Project supported by Indiana Disciples – you!
A new addition to the Nutritional Center in Losanganya was finished. Project supported by Indiana Disciples – you!
After the purchase of musical instruments (assisted by money from Indiana youth), musicians were trained so that they could provide attractive music to draw people to worship. Project supported by Indiana Disciples – you!
A new well (cost=$1500) was built in Mbandaka, providing clean water for thousands and helping prevent disease. Project supported by Indiana Disciples – you!
And one small story of what partnership really means… During the 2008 trip to sign the partnership agreement, Regional Minister Rick Spleth was given the opportunity to bless Henoch, son of the pastor of the Nsele parish. We pledged to help raise him in the faith, as we do our own children. He is now 5 years old and living with his parents in Mampoko, the river village that hosted the 2011 pilgrims from Indiana.
