Where is it From? • Mexico and Central America • Introduced to Texas in 1927 due to infested fruits migrated to Texas
Effects on People • Larvae Attack numerous fruits of economic significance, particularly in grapefruit, oranges, pear, peach, and apple • Larvae also damage produce for sale • People lose jobs and countless amounts of money is lost
Effects on Ecosystem • Infested fruits which annually migrate to southern Texas • That many fruits are often thrown out and are not edible
