  2. Definition of fable • A fable is a short story which leads a didactic lesson. It carries out thoughts through animated or inanimate features, plants, and nature. Its main topic is about “a moral”.

Characteristics of fable • According to Wikipedia, “the word "fable" comes from the Latin "fabula" ("a story"), from "fari" ("to speak")”. • In general, a fable is a genre of short story to tell a moral lesson with a wittingly manner. It can be called as “tall tales” in one sense. Its distinctive features are animals in a story. These animated characters are anthropomorphic, which means animals can act like humans in the story. For example, The ancient Aesop’s famous “tortoise and hare” in his story.

  4. General history of fable • A fable can be described as an oral literature that is handed down orally or written by a literary tale-teller. It leads moral lessons, values, sage advices and humors for laugh. Fables can be found most of countries as a similar type of literature. The origin of fables was India and fables were spread into Persia, Greece and the Western world.
