Aims of the project: • Development of an effective and sustainable transfer system for cooperation between small and medium sized German and Russian scientific institutions and enterprises • Combination of information and consultation by professional partners • Development of qualification modulesfor subjects as: • Project cooperation • Country-specific frameworks • Foundation of German-Russian Start-ups German-Russian Co-operation Network Biotechnology

Areas for cooperation: • Promising areas for cooperation with Russian scientific institution and enterprises have been determined: • Genomics and Proteomics • Medical engineering and pharmaceutics • Food biotechnology • Molecular medicine • Bio based products • Bioinformatics German-Russian Co-operation Network Biotechnology

Project conditions: • Duration: April 2005 – December 2007 • Funding: • Germany: • BMBF (Federal Ministry for Education and Research) • Federal State Hessen • Federal State Brandenburg • Russia: • Ministry for Education and Science of the Russian Federation German-Russian Co-operation Network Biotechnology

Services of the project partners: • collecting and circulating sector-specific and country-specific information • search for potential cooperation partners • professional accompaniment in cooperation initiations • partner matching • management qualification • running workshops on different topics (8 workshops have been carried out successfully both in Germany and Russia) • database with information on Russian biotech businesses and institutions www.bis-rus.com/bisrus_db (database volume now is 1120 enterprises) German-Russian Co-operation Network Biotechnology

State of the project 2006: • Central contact and co-ordination points in Germany and Russia have been established • Existing studies concerning Russian Biotechnology have been evaluated and are available • Working tools for evaluation of co-operation proposals, initialisation of co-operation and the exchange of information have been generated • First pilot projects have been acquired and are supervised by processing • More cooperation proposals are in process • Searching for european partners for elaborating of a project for FP7 German-Russian Co-operation Network Biotechnology

  8. pilot projects • “SynChro” Synthesis of peptides, the automatic solid-phase method for peptides synthesis in automated synthesizers • Joint venture was founded in Germany (2006) for Project realization • Assistance in development of BP acceptable for German investors by a consulting agency • Attracted financing from International Bureau BMBF for marketing research in frame of starting international cooperation. • “E-Ventus” • e-dressing • Construction of an adaptede-ventus system for a company in Russia • Training of the employees of the Russian operating company • Technical support of the plant by the e-ventus team • Attracted financing from International Bureau BMBF for marketing research in frame of starting international cooperation.
