3 - Bid from Customer “A” is accepted You are the current high bidder at $1 * No other Bids have been entered so the bid for Customer “A” is $1 4
4 - Customer “B” Bids Customer “B” enters a Maximum bid of $10 * Union Pacific will use the Maximum amount you enter to “Proxy” bid for you.* The Proxy bid will be $1 higher than other bids that have been entered.* Union Pacific will not Proxy bid an amount higher than your Maximum 5
5 - Status after Customer “B” Bids Click “Bid on Selected Lots” to continue * Union Pacific will compare the bid from Customer “B” to all other Bids entered. * The Maximum Bid from Customer “A” ids higher than the Maximum bid from Customer “B” * Union Pacific will create a Proxy bid for Customer “A” at $11 to retain their position as high bidder. * Customer “B” is not the high bidder. * Customer B can bid again by clicking on the link. 6
6 - Details from My Bids Screen for Customer “A” Click to bid again Click to Raise Maximum bid Bid Type “Proxy” * Customer “A” is high bidder at $11, Their maximum is $50. * Customer “A” could bid again. Care must be taken when bidding again, it will be entered as a separate bid and you may be bidding against yourself. * Customer “A” can raise their maximum bid. This will not be entered as a new bid and will not effect the current high bid amount. * The bid type indicates Union Pacific entered a “Proxy” bid for Customer “A”. 7

8 - Customer “A” Status Click “Bid on Selected Lots” to continue * The Max for Customer “A” has been exceeded and they are no longer high bidder. * Customer * Customer “A” can bid again. * The bid details show the “User” bid entered by Customer “A” and the “Proxy” bid entered by Union Pacific on the behalf of Customer “A”. 9
9 - Tips * Proxy bidding will ensure you get the lot at the lowest amount under your Maximum. * Enter your real Maximum bid and let the Computer “Proxy” bid on your behalf.* Don’t wait until 1 minute before the auction ends to enter a bid. If other customers have entered higher maximum bids you will be outbid and you may not have time to bid again.* Be careful when bidding again on lots with a single unit.
