  2. Purpose The Arch of Titus was built in 82. AD by an unknown architect on the order of Emperor Domitian in order to honor the Emperor's brother, Titus, as well as Titus' crowning achievement of completing the Siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD. It was built shortly after Titus' death on September 13, 81 AD. http://hdultimatehistory.wordpress.com/

  3. Importance The Arch of Titus was mainly a tribute to Titus, as well as a tribute to his conquering of Jerusalem and destruction of the temple. It was located at the easternmost end of the forum and was typically used as an entrance/exit to or from the Roman Forum.
