  3. Irrational Numbers • Irrational numbers are real numbers that cannot be expressed in the form a/b when a and b are integers. • Π is an irrational number • Nonterminating, nonrepeating decimals are irrational numbers

  4. Property of Completeness • Every decimal number represents a real number, and every real number can be represented by a decimal.

  5. Simplifying Radicals Remember – there are two roots for every positive number. The √ sign referring to the positive root unless there is a sign in front of it.
