  4. I was a cupbearer for the King. Nehemiah 1:11 I was a math teacher for the King. I was a student for the King. I rebuilt gates for the King. I was a website designer for the King. I was an electrical engineer for the King. I was musician for the King.

  5. Samaria 35 miles Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt the Sheep Gate. 3:1 The Fish Gate was rebuilt by the sons of Hassenah. 3:3 The Valley Gate was repaired by Joiada son of Paseah and Meshulluam son of Besodeiah.. 3:13

When Sanballat (governor of Samaria) and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard about this, they were very much disturbed that someone had come to promote the welfare of the Israelites. 2:10 When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews. 4:1 You are a feeble people. You will never finish. Even a fox could break down that wall.

  7. Hear us, O God, for we are despised . . . . So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart. 4:4

  8. When Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the men of Ashdod heard that the repairs to Jerusalem’s walls had gone ahead and that the gaps were being closed, they were very angry. They plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against the city. 4:7 Therefore, I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places . . . From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows, and armor. 4:7
