EMS Complaints for 2010 • Family called and complained about their family members glasses being broken after gurney tipped over. • Resolved at staff level • Family member complained about a medic crew forcing entry into a family members home due to a lifeline call. Medic crew found a patient screaming inside, tried to find way in and entered by dislodging an AC unit from a window. Medic crew wasn’t advised by dispatch that family was enroute with a key. It was estimated that the patient had been laying on floor for a day or two. • Resolved at staff level

  4. 2010 EMS Equipment Highlights • New remounted ambulance • 3 New PowerPro Gurneys • Received grant for new E Series Defibrillator • New P25 compliant radios installed in all emergency apparatus • Received 90 doses of Duo Dotes

  5. 2010 EMS Training Highlights • Expanded online training programs to include ACLS and EPC • Idaho Optional Modules • Blood glucose monitoring, epi pens, pelvic immobilization devices, CPAP, IM & SQ injections and RSI. • EVIP for all employees • New reserve firefighters • Paramedic consortium agreement with LCSC

  6. 2010 EMS Highlights • Protocol updates and new format for Asotin County • New MPD in Asotin County • New MPD contract with Dr. Jay Hunter • Based M-73 out of ACFD#1 Station • Modified EMS response assignments to improve response times in Lewiston • Guarantee paramedic staffing at Station 4 • IAFF contract extension • EMS taskforce formed

  7. 2010 EMS Highlights • Grant for bicycle helmet program • 1st Annual Life Safety Day • Addition of two new fire clowns • Development of a medical facility incident reporting form • Utilization of the Physician Certification Statement Form “PCS” • Development of a PCR peer review program • Scanning of documents and attaching to electronic PCR’s
