For people who work on airlines there are three kinds of baggage. One is the hand or carry-on luggage that people take with them into the passenger cabin of the aircraft. Then there is the baggage that is carried in the special baggage compartment of the passengers plane. This is called “checked baggage”. A third kind of luggage is called “unaccompanied baggage”. Yet still it is being destroyed just like other rainforests around the world. The problem and the solution to rainforest destruction are both economic. Rainforests are being destroyed worldwide for the profits they yield—mostly harvesting unsustainable resources like timber, for cattle and agriculture, and for subsistence cropping by rainforest inhabitants.
DDiscussion Questions: • Do you enjoy the beauty of the rain forest where different kinds of animals live in harmony with each other? What can human being do to protect that? • What do you think of the statement “we human being and other species share the same globe”?
