Lam. 4:6 • It was prolonged while Sodom’s was short (in a moment); • It came despite assistance from Egypt while Sodom had none. (without a hand… to help).
(C) The Terrible News to come – 1) Jerusalem’s Sentence 2) Those who Refused to Receive Jesus’ disciples. Mt. 10:13-15; Mk. 6:11; Lk. 10:12 • Peace wold be taken away from the city of peace. • 3) Capernaum’s Condemnation. Mt. 11:22-24 • Tyre and Sidon were Gentile cities. • Capernaum, Korazin and Bethsaida were Jewish cities – they had the Messiah, the Man of Galilee and His Miracles. • Capernaum would not be lifted up to the skies, or exalted. Instead its inhabitants would go down to the depths, literally, to hades, the place of the dead.
(C) The Terrible News to come – 1) Jerusalem’s Sentence2) Those who Refused to Receive Jesus’ disciples.3) Capernaum’s Condemnation 4) The materialistic unbelievers at Christ’s Second Coming. Lk. 17:28-30; II Pet. 2:6-8 Cf. The days of Sodom (eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building); Not unlike the days of Noah (they did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage…) Lk. 17:26, 27 The judgment at Christ’s Second Coming will be worse than… Sodom’s days when God destroyed the cities; Noah’s days when God flooded the earth. 5) Final Condemnation in the Consummation Jude 1:7 The punishment by fire on the perverse inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah illustrates the eternal fire of hell. Fornication and going after strange flesh (II Pet. 2:7); (sexual immorality and perversion, NIV), … pursued unnatural lust , NRSV) includes pre-marital, extra-marital, unnatural sex or transgender behaviour as heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, pansexual or asexual. • 4. The men Smote the Sodomites with blindness demonstrating their Superiority. 19:9-11 5. Lot’s “Sons-in-law” and daughters warned to get out; they would not be given Immunity. 19:12-14

The Sin of Homosexuality and Lesbianism Condemned: • "Homosexual" is Greek (arsenokoites). 2 occ. in the N.T. I Cor. 6:9; I Tim. 1:10 • One who lies with a male as with a female, sodomite, homosexual. Strong, J. (1996). • The KJVtranslates it as abusers of themselveswith mankind, and defile themselves with mankind. • The NASB and NKJVtranslate it as "homosexuals." • The NIVas "homosexual offenders." • The RSV as "sexual perverts." • The NRSV“sodomites”
Before the Law – Sodomy as practised in Sodom. Gen. 19:5 • They called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know (have sex, NIV) them. And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous. Gen. 18:20 • Sodomyis any non-penile/vaginal copulation-like act, such as oral or anal sex, or sex between a person and an animal … So-called "sodomy laws" in many countries criminalized not only these behaviours, but other disfavoured sexual activities as well, but in the Western world, many of these laws have been overturned, or are not routinely enforced. Lev. 18:22, Lev. 20:13, If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death… b) In the New Testament: 1 Cor. 6:9-10, NIV-the sexually immoral … idolaters … adulterers…male prostitutes…homosexual offenders Rom. 1:26-28, NIV - women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones…men…inflamed with lust for one another…Men committed indecent acts with other men…
(1) Homosexuality is Admonished as SIN!(2) Homosexuality is Against creation order: • The Act of Creation. Gen. 1:27 • The Aim of Creation. Gen. 1:28 • It is Alien to nature – Cf. Gen. 2:18-20 • Both Male and Female Physically and Physiologically complement each other. • Mentally and Socially both supplement each other.
(1) Homosexuality is Admonished as SIN!(2) Homosexuality is Against creation order. (3) God Acts against Homosexuality Himself. Rom. 1:26, 27, NRSV (4) Homosexuals seek Approval for what they indulge in. Rom. 1:32, NIV (5) It is Antichristian spiritually and metaphorically. It cannot picture Christ and the Church in Marriage.
Is this politically correct? 2. What is biblically correct? • Homosexuality is a sin. • God condemns the sin but He loves all sinners, including the homosexual (I Jn. 4:8) and Christ has died for him/her. • Like all other sinners, he/she needs to repent (Acts 17:30) and return to God through Christ Who bore his/her sins in His own body on the tree. (I Pet. 2:24). • He/Sheneeds to receive Christ and be received by God as His children. (Jn. 1:12).
What is personally and individually correct?Or What should be the Christian's response to the Homosexual? a) Show the homosexual Affection and pray for him/her. b) Acknowledge the homosexual as still made in the image of God. He/She should be treated as such – with dignity and respect. • However, do not Approve their Act which must be seen in the light of God’s Word.
(B) INCEST • The Crime Defined: • Sexual intercourse between persons too closely related to marry (as between a parent and a child) - Dictionary • “The crime of sexual intercourse or cohabitation between a man and woman who are related to each other within the degrees wherein marriage is prohibited by law”Black, p. 685
(B) INCEST • Examples of incest in the Bible. • The sons/daughters of Adam and Eve married each other. Gen. 4 • Abraham married his half-sister Sarah. Gen. 20:12 • Lot’s daughters committed incest with their father. Gen. 19 • Moses’ father, Amram married his aunt, Jochebed Ex. 6:20 • David’s son Amnon committed incest with his half-sister, Tamar. II Sam. 13
1. Examples of incest in the Bible. 2. The Explanation: • In the Old Testament: i. Incest in Patriarchal days – not pronounced as sin because of the then situation. • As in the days after Adam and Eve. • As in the days after Noah.
2. The Explanation:a. In the Old Testament: i. Incest in Patriarchal days – ii. Incest in Post-Law days. Lev. 18:6-18 • Sexual cohabitation not permitted between: A man and his mother, his sister, A granddaughter, an aunt, etc. Punishment: Expulsion!(18:29) shall be cut off from among their people. b.
