  2. IFIECs VIEW: FREE MARKET • AS THE BEST GUARANTEE FOR THE COMPETIVITY AND SUSTAINABILITY OF EU INDUSTRY • COST ORIENTED ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES I.E. ENERGY AND PARTICULARLY NATURAL GAS

  3. MARKET: CONSUMER CHOICE • WHICH SUPPLIER • WHAT PRODUCTS • DURATION (short – mid - long term) • SIZE (bundles) • FLEXIBILITY • PRICING MECHANISM • RISK MANAGEMENT

IFIEC’s view on 2nd markets • Price difference = driver for trade / arbitrage • Market structure should facilitate market functioning, • however: transport capacity = bottleneck (in most cases commercial congestion) • Solution: secondary capacity market • Price • Risc • Conditions • If this secondary market does not work (yet): DO NOT BLAME THE MARKET, but RE-CREATE THE STRUCTURE (products&conditions)
