Learner Centered in progress Students work in teams for most of the course (65%) Students have “critical reading” and “skim reading” with reading reflections for each class period. Students also use the publisher’s online reading assessments (Mastering Biology) for content checks I use mini-lecture to address often missed questions on Mastering Biology or to pull out interesting points from the reflections. These are still interactive with multiple opportunities for reflection and discussion. Group format work for the rest of the time, with me interrupting as needed to make a point. Summative assessments are multiple choice tests taken individually and as a group.
