Difficult Passages • 1 Corinthians 1:10-17 • Unity is in Christ not man (1:17; Eph 4:1-3) • Priority of preaching over the performing of a baptism (Matt 10:34-35) • Preaching & baptism are not to be separated in time (1 Cor 15:1-2; Acts 18:8)
Difficult Passages • Acts 10:44-48 • In Acts 2 Peter said the “gift of the Holy Spirit” would come after baptism (2:38). • In Acts 10 we see the Holy Spirit coming before baptism.

Difficult Passages • Acts 10:44-48 • Baptism is God’s way for “all the nations” to become disciples of His Son (Matt 28:20). • Baptism creates a bond of unity between people of all nations who have been redeemed. • Baptism was done immediately to prove its importance.
