  3. YISD and HB5 • YISD students will continue a 4 x 4 curriculum (4 CRS. each of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies) with additional requirements as defined by both the district and the state. • YISD expects all students to complete high school as a Distinguished Level of Achievement graduate with a minimum of 1 Endorsement. • Let’s look at the overview!

  25. QUESTIONS?

  26. Parent and Student Activity • Find the Career Pathways and Endorsements offered on your home high school brochure! • What career pathway interests you MOST at the present time? (You may use your results from Career Cruising to help you decide!) • Are you ready to make a decision NOW? If so, circle your Endorsement choice. • Make sure your Parent signs!!

  27. At Home Parent/Student Activity • Look at the information provided to you again. • Once you have selected your Endorsement, ask your parent to sign (VERY IMPORTANT!) • Make an appointment to see your counselor and take your Endorsement sheet with you. • IF you and your parent choose an Endorsement that is not offered at your home high school, you will need to do the following: • Fill out a Transfer Request Form and turn it in to your counselor • Provide your own transportation to the designated school • While many programs require you to attend only your 11th and 12th grade years, the Bel Air Health Magnet Program is a 4-year commitment!
