Computer in Education • CAL (Computer Aided Learning): An education style where the computers take the role of a private teacher for each student using techniques, such as: Drill Practice¹, Tutorials and Instructional Games and the teacher will have the supervising role. These systems aim to manage evaluating process and find solutions for week students. • CML (Computer Managed Learning).
Computer in Management • MIS (Management Information System) It is a computer based system that drives data from all departments of an organization and produces reports of the organization's performance. • Reduce the number of employees. • Reducing mistakes. • Providing quick information.
Computer in Banks: • ATM machines. • By online banking you can pay bills and move money between accounts. • Reduces the bank staff and building. • Computers provide credit cards which enable people to purchase goods.
Computer in Medical Fields • The management of hospitals including: • Files of all types of patients. • Records about the doctors. • Nursing personal file. • Laboratories files. • Stores files.
Computer in Medical Fields • The computers have helped the medical students in practical training and in studying the human body. • Assist doctors in diagnosing diseases. • Help the doctors in surgery. • Used by dentist to measure jaws and study the patient teeth. • Used by eyes doctors for controlling of laser to correct vision.
Computer in Pharmacy • Regulation of the pharmacy work like: • Financial transactions. • Storage system. • In hospitals’ pharmacies the computer allows the pharmacist to give the patient a card with the medicine containing the name of the patient, name of the doctor and the system of the medicine.
Computer and Industry Field • The management of factories that have taken the benefit of networks. • Computer Applications in programming units which known as (Artificial Intelligence): It is a part of Computer Science which aims to design intelligent computer systems to help in solving problems, one of these systems is: Robot: It is a machine created to simulate the human being activities in a fast and organized manner.
Computer and Industry Field Works can be performed by the Robot: • Welding and plumbing. • Handling dangerous materials. • Packing. • Fire fighting. • Defusing bombs.
Teleworking (working at home) Advantages: • Decrease the employees traveling time. • Increase the employee relaxation (no manager pressure) • Increase the focus on the work. • Decrease the company area. Disadvantages: • Decrease the peoples’ communication. • Decrease the ability to measure employees work quality.
E-documents Documents or files which are created by the computer applications e.g. text documents. Advantages: • Reducing the need for printed material (books) which reduce the costly expenses of printing. • Easy to exchange files. • Easy to browse any file or folder also you can use the search facility. • E-business and E-government transactions.
E-Commerce A group of commercial operation between two sides or more using the computers which are connected to the Internet. Payment Methods Using the Internet: • Visa Card, Master Card. • Electronic check: it is a form between the seller and the buyer with the existence of an intermediary (the bank of the buyer) between them .
The advantages of the E-commerce • Global Market: you can buy from any country. • Open Time (24 hours a day). • Saves the client time.
The disadvantages ofE-commerce • Risk in payment: disclosure of credit card number or bank account. • The risk of information leakage during transport to a hacker who might change the name of the buyer.
