Core Measure #5 Clinical Decision Support • Absent four clinical quality measures related to EH or CAH patient population, CDS interventions must be related to high-priority health conditions. It is suggested that one of the 5 CDS interventions be related to improving healthcare efficiency
Core Measure #5 Clinical Decision Support Part 2 • (2) The eligible hospital or CAH has enabled the functionality for drug-drug and drug-allergy interaction checks for the entire EHR reporting period
Comparison to Stage 1 • Increased number of Clinical Decision Support rules from 1 to 5 • Added Drug-Drug and Drug-Allergy criteria to this measure • Continues to be Self-Attestation • No third party software required (However, if utilizing Problem List, would utilize SNOMED-CT codes for previous/current medical history) CONFIDENTIAL |
Tips for creating 5 CDS rules for MU2 • All 5 Clinical Decision Support rules should be active for the ENTIRE reporting period • Take a screen shot of the CDS rule when created and activated. Retain to attach/upload for the Attestation process • Screen Shots can be attached to the Meaningful Use Manager Dashboard CONFIDENTIAL |
