How many are there? There’s two different eclipses, lunar and solar.
Solar Eclipse. According to Wikipedia, “A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes in front of the Sun as seen from the Earth. The type of solar eclipse event depends on the distance of the Moon from the Earth during the event.” So the moon has a shining around it. (See picture below)
Lunar Eclipse. A lunar eclipse is caused when the moon goes in front of the earth's shadow. Because a lunar eclipse occurs only when the moon is on the far side of the earth from the sun, these only happen when there is a full moon. And the moon likes like an orange color. (see picture below)
