7 August 2014: As you enter, determine if you have a laptop (or tablet if you are okay typing on it) that you could bring to class to work. If you do, let Mr. Ingham know. If you don’t, acquire a laptop from the cart in the back of the room and logon. (Mr. Ingham has your User ID and your password is ccsd2014 until you change it.) Today’s Agenda: • Technology Introduction: Computer Assignments and Protocol • Edmodo Introduction • Digital Annotations: How to Look at Words on Your SECOND Reading HMWK: • Signature Contracts DUE TOMORROW • Digitally annotate “The Bet” by Anton Chekhov; email to Mr. Ingham TONIGHT!
8 August 2014: Retrieve your baby from its crib, logon, and check your email. Look in the “Sent” folder and ensure you sent Mr. Ingham what he was expecting. Also, in a new tab, open Edmodo and make sure you are logged in to the platform. Today’s Agenda: • Last Night’s Homework: Panic and Problem-solving • Edmodo: Fixing Our Problems and Adapting to the Glitches • Your Annotations (for better or for worse) HMWK: • Make sure you have annotated and emailed “The Bet” to Mr. Ingham by Monday, 8/11/14 • Adapt to any and all technological glitches and be ready for Edmodo on Monday, 8/11/14 • Have your supplies and a piece of Alternative Reading Material (ARM) by Monday, 8/8/14
What you’ve learned during week one of high school: • If a teacher is spending time on something, it is probably important. Take notes! • Asking questions isn’t admitting ignorance; it is the search for understanding. • Reading something more than once is the only way to comprehend the depth of a work. • The ability to solve unanticipated problems is invaluable in every circumstance.
