DO NOT BURN LOCATIONS! • Work Locations On The Weekends According To The Schedule Provided • Run Locations No More Than 2 Weekends (oops, we are going for three…, non consecutive) • Share Locations With Neighboring Packs And Troops • Do Not Use Store Management To Mediate Locations Usage • Do Not Use Store Dumpsters Or Trash Receptacles Without Permission
Rules for Sales Locations • Boys Are To Clean Area Before And After Sale. Area Must Be Kept Neat. Do Not Use Trash Receptacles At Location For Cardboard Bring The Flattened Cardboard Back To The Warehouse When You Settle Up. • No Going Into Or Out Of The Store At The Host Location. All Boys Should Have Eaten Prior To Coming Out. Candy Is Not Food. • During Selling Times, Adults May Use Donation Dollars To Buy Drinks (Water/Gatorade Only). • Donation Dollars May Be Used AFTER The Boys Are Finished To Buy Food For Boys, No More Than $5/Boy – No Candy.
Rules for Sales Locations #2 • There Are No Tips!! Statements Made By The Customers Such As “Keep The Change” Or “You Keep The Popcorn” Are Considered Donations. All Donations Are Put To Good Use In Support Of Scouting. • If, When You Get To Your Assigned Location, You Find Another Scout Group Selling, Do Not Engage Them Or The Store Manager. Call The Kernel On the Cell And We Will Give You An Alternate Location. If You Are Approached By Another Group, Call The Kernel And He Will Give Direction Re: Alternate Locations. • Please Do Not Take Chairs Or Tables To The Location. They Take Up A Lot Of Room And Work Against Us. CHAIRS AND TABLES ARE the WALL!!!

Biggest Prize Earn Your Way • The troop makes 30% on the retail sale • 1/3 of what the troop makes will go into individual scout accounts (10% of retail sale) • Each young man who sells $2,500 earns his way to Summer Camp, at no cost to parent. • Each young man who sells $3,500 earns his way to Summer Camp, and choice of Weekend Camp Outs. PARENTS: This is IMPORTANT!!
Merchandising – How we will sell… • Clean The Area First – Bring A Broom And Dustpan. If you don’t have one, ASK! • No Tables! No Chairs! It Will Be Used As A Shield And Prevents Movement. Convenient hiding place…. • Use Empty Cartons To Keep Product Off The Ground And To Elevate The Display • Pyramid The Product. Be Creative In Developing An Appealing Display. • Do NOT Put Up Signs With Pricing. • DO NOT OPEN PREPACKAGED POPCORN AND SELL AS A SINGLE UNIT. This Action Will Reduce The Dollar Level Of Your Lowest Sale, And You Will Lose Donation Dollars.
Appearance • All Boys In Class A Uniform • All Boys Know The Presentation • All Boys Are Courteous At All Times • Area Is Kept Clean And Unobstructed. • Everyone Spoken To Is Shown Appreciation For Taking The Time To Listen.
PRESENTATION! Our Young Men will get further instruction on the Presentation at our upcoming Troop Meetings • Get the customers attention • “Excuuuse Me, SIR / MA’AM!” • Maintain Eye Contact!!!! • If the customer is not looking at you or you are not looking at them, SOMEBODY IS NOT PAYING ATTENTION • Keep the customer focused (Bringing them back) • Motion Create Emotion • Energy = ENTHUSIASM • Superlatives are SUPERWORDS • “DeeeeLicious”
How are we going to meet our Goal? • Show and Sell primary means • Credit Card Readers to catch “I don’t have cash…”, or “I forgot my checkbook…” • On Line sales Available • Door to door at your leisure Show and Sell results: $100 to $200 per hour and more WHEN you FOLLOW THE TECHNIQUES.
What are our limitations? • We are limited by the locations we secure and the number of people we talk to. • We are limited by the boys who understand and know the presentation inside and out. • We are limited by the number of parents who get involved as site supervisors.
