Allocation of ANA resources to TGad Authors: Date: 2010-11-10 Carlos Cordeiro, Intel Corporation
Purpose • To describe the need for allocation of ANA resources to the TGad draft standard • To request, via motion, the 802.11ad TG and 802.11 WG to allocate the corresponding ANA resources Carlos Cordeiro, Intel Corporation
Need for ANA resource allocation to TGad • LB168 on TGad D1.0 passed with an approval rate of 87.2% • ANA allocation to TGad would allow the resolution of about 25 comments received in LB168 • ANA allocation would allow early interop testing Carlos Cordeiro, Intel Corporation
Supporting precedent • The same situation happened with 802.11n D1.02 • Doc #11-06/0721r2 (May 2006) contains the TGn motion that passed Y:52, N:29, A:16 • Doc #11-06/0686r0 (May 2006) contains the follow-up WG motion that passed Y:30, N:11, A:14 • Doc #11-07/0827r0, which contains the ANA procedures, allows ANA resources to be allocated to drafts in LB • The 802.11 Operations Manual (11-09/0002r4) in subclause 1.1.2 (ANA Request Procedure) also allow ANA resources to be allocated to drafts in LB Carlos Cordeiro, Intel Corporation
TGad Motion • Request the IEEE 802.11 Assigned Numbers Authority to allocate numbers for the following resources in the 802.11ad draft standard: • The Frame Subtype values in subclause 7.1.3.1.2 • The Control Frame Extension values in Table 2 (Control Frame Extension) • The Status Code values in subclause 7.3.1.9 • The Action field values in subclause 7.3.1.11 • The Information Element values in subclause 7.3.2 • The position of the Joint Multi-band RSNA subfield in subclause 7.3.2.25 • The Cipher Suite value in subclause 7.3.2.25.1 • The Capabilities field values in subclause 7.3.2.27 • The Regulatory Class values in Annex J • Moved: Carlos Cordeiro • Seconded: Chris Hansen • Result: 36-0-1 Carlos Cordeiro, Intel Corporation
WG Motion • Request the IEEE 802.11 Assigned Numbers Authority to allocate numbers for the following resources in the 802.11ad draft standard: • The Frame Subtype values in subclause 7.1.3.1.2 • The Control Frame Extension values in Table 2 (Control Frame Extension) • The Status Code values in subclause 7.3.1.9 • The Action field values in subclause 7.3.1.11 • The Information Element values in subclause 7.3.2 • The position of the Joint Multi-band RSNA subfield in subclause 7.3.2.25 • The Cipher Suite value in subclause 7.3.2.25.1 • The Capabilities field values in subclause 7.3.2.27 • The Regulatory Class values in Annex J • Moved: Eldad • Seconded: • Result: November 2010 Slide 6 Carlos Cordeiro, Intel Corporation
