  1. Red Mesa Community Action Plan By: Juwan & DeShawna

  2. Climate Change Issue: • Our climate change issue in Red Mesa are sand dunes because it might cause lost of homes, property, cost for community, and disaster. Our goal is to monitor the sand dunes just incase the vegetation goes down from over grazing.

  3. Monitoring Sand Dunes: • Caution people to not make new dirt roads that loosens up the soil. • RPI Sensors to measure the soil moisture, temperature, location, and humidity. • Dust traps to monitor how much sand gets blown through that area.

  4. Our Solutions • Mud balls are used to replant plants on unstable sand dunes. • Sand Sausage which is laid down to prevent wind from blowing the sand. • Replant plants so the roots would hold down the sand while it is windy.

  5. How We Would Share Our Ideas: • Red Mesa radio station (98.7 f.m.) • Newspaper • Fliers • Chapter Meetings • School Assembles

  6. Who Would Be Involved: • The Chapter house • Red Mesa Board Members • Boy Scouts • The community • The 4-H Club • Ben Shelly • Elders • Students • Student Council • Mansel Nelson-EEOP
