This project aims to connect recent immigrants with mental health services, reduce stigma, and integrate them into Baltimore's community. Targeted towards Spanish-speaking and Somali Bantu populations, peer mentors will assist families in accessing and navigating the health care system, improving health literacy, and connecting with community resources.

Target population Recent immigrants who have children in Head Start or Early Head Start • Spanish-speaking • Somali Bantu
Peer mentors/promotoras comunitarias help families: • connect with mental health services • feel more comfortable with mental health interventions • navigate the health care system • improve their health literacy • access community resources • learn their rights
