Section 5: Parallel Instruction The Parallel Instruction model • In this setting, the class is divided into two groups and each teacher is responsible for teaching the same material to her/his smaller group. • A key feature of Parallel Instruction is that teachers can roam and give students individualized support.
Section #5: Parallel Instruction The Parallel Instruction model in the classroom • An early childhood class is working in teams to produce videos about child-proofing a home. • Each teacher oversees a team, working with the students to instruct them about child safety in the home and what parents can do to make their homes safe. Each teacher also incorporates reading strategies instruction into their lessons.
