  1. Applying to Graduate School at ISU • Apply to the Graduate School at ISU and submit all required information and documentation • http://admissions.illinoisstate.edu/apply/ • Only submit the online application and the fee • Apply online to CSDCAS and submit all required information and documentation • https://csdcas.liaisoncas.com/applicant-ux/#/login • Transcripts (from ALL schools attended) • 3 letters of recommendation • Essay/Personal Statement • Video Clip https://csd.illinoisstate.edu/graduate/applicationInformation/

  2. January 1st, 2019 • You must submit your online applications to ISU and CSDCAS by 1-1-19 to be considered for the graduate program. • You will be notified via email when your application to ISU is complete. • This is when we have verification of both completed applications (ISU and CSDCAS)

  3. MS in SLP at ISU • 15 required academic courses (40 credit hours) • 6 required clinical enrollments (18 credit hours) • Transformational Goal for Graduate Curriculum • To prepare students for the depth and breadth of the SLP scope of practice in order for them to become competent, confident and compassionate professionals.  We want students to be able to analyze and integrate clinical information to become effective and efficient clinicians and consumers of research.

SLP Coursework • CSD 402: Cognition and Language Across the Lifespan: Foundations • CSD 403: Cognition and Language Across the Lifespan: Differential Diagnosis • CSD 404: Cognition and Language Across the Lifespan: Intervention • CSD 406: Language for Learning and Literacy • CSD 409: Introduction to Research • CSD 410: Neurobasis of Communication Disorders • CSD 412: Speech Sound Disorders

SLP Coursework • CSD 413: Assessment and Management of Voice and Resonance Disorders • CSD 414: Dysphagia • CSD 418: Assessment and Treatment of Stuttering • CSD 420:Feeding and Swallowing Disorders in Infants and Children • CSD 422: Assessments Across the Lifespan • CSD 432: Counseling for Communication Disorders • CSD 460: Augmentative and Alternative Communication

MS in SLP at ISU • Clinic Courses • 408.3: Basic Speech Pathology Clinic (1st Fall term) • (1 hour) • 408.4: Intermediate Speech Pathology Clinic (1st Spring and 2nd Summer terms) • (2 hours each) • 408.5: Advanced Speech Pathology Clinic (2nd Fall term) • (3 hours) • 408.6: External: Educational • (5 hours) • 408.7: External: Medical • (5 hours)

A summer start… • If admitted to our graduate program, we require a Summer 2019 start date taking three courses: • CSD 422: Assessments Across the Lifespan • Scheduled: June 3 – July 12 • Time: M, T, W, R; 8:00 - 9:10 AM • CSD 451: Counseling for Communication Disorders • Scheduled: June 3 – June 28 • Time: M, T, W, TH; 10:00 - 11:35 AM • CSD 460: Augmentative and Alternative Communication • Scheduled: June 3 - July 12 • Time: M, T, W, TH; 1:00 - 2:35 PM
