Conflict Resolution • Negotiation – communication with a goal of finding a solution • Ideal outcome is a win-win solution • Compromise – each party agrees to give up something to reach a solution that satisfies everyone (fair-fair solution) • Agree to disagree • Withdraw – negotiations can be resumed when both parties are more willing to compromise • Mediation – a neutral 3rd party helps people find a solution

  6. The Importance of Forgiveness • When someone has wronged you it is normal to feel hurt and angry. However, knowing how to forgive is an essential life skill. • Forgiving gives a sense of peace. • You can still be upset about the action, but forgive the person. • Express yourself. Explain why you feel hurt or angry. • Practise empathy. Put yourself in the other person’s shoes.
