Shippensburg University • PA State System of Higher Ed. • 7,500 students • Primarily resident campus Shippensburg University, SHip to SHORE
Why is a nice, little, resident liberal arts college messing about with ‘Distance Ed.’ technology? Shippensburg University, SHip to SHORE
Why a BlackBoard Tutorial? • SSHE has been experimenting with distance education • SU President encourages faculty to experiment with technology • SU Library Dean includes technology in her definition of Information Literacy Shippensburg University, SHip to SHORE

College Writing Faculty • Were interested in continuing as our collaborative partner • Their perception of students needs coincided with ACRL Literacy Standards • Were unwilling to become BB ‘experts’ Shippensburg University, SHip to SHORE

Email log Oct. 17 – …quiz asked students to go to EBSCOhost Newspapers, which had inadvertently been taken from the EBSCOhost choice list. Shippensburg University, SHip to SHORE
Email log Oct 23 – Student could not get into BB from home. (I subsequently called her on the phone. She apparently had an old browser and was unwilling to download a new one. She finally came to the library to complete the tutorial.) Shippensburg University, SHip to SHORE
