  2. Just 3 Short Years Ago… • Incorporated on October 15, 2003 • Hypergrowth: growth beyond the normal rate • Close to 7,000 SFH permits issued in 2005 • Population expected to increase 50% for next 5 years

  3. OUR STORY • Department formed June 2004 • Have grown from 34 participants in 9 programs (Fall ’04) to over 3,500 yearly participants (2007) • Approximately 32% of our population is under the age of 19 years • Approximately 12% of our population is between 0-5 years

  11. OPEN SPACE PLANNING • Created Open Space Guidelines in 2004 • Adopted Voter Approved General Plan in 2006 with an Open Space Element • Studied over 50 different general plans and open space master plans • Engaged services of J2 Engineering in August of 2007 to create first-ever OSMP
