Catherine REGNAULT-ROGER (Fr) Groupe Français des Pesticides 33èmeCongrès Mediterranean Group of Pesticide Research 3rd Symposium UNICUM COLLOQUIUM AIX en PROVENCE May 20 - 24th, 2003 CROP PROTECTION Minor Crops, Bio-pesticides, Environment, Future. The Groupe Français des Pesticides is a Society that has gathered for more than 25 years, in France, number of representative Scientifics and Professionnals concerned by pesticide use and management. More recently settled, the Mediterranean Group of Pesticide Research also gathers Scientifics and Researchers from all Mediterranean Countries, with similar objectives but privileging International and Community aspects. A common and uniqueColloquium for both Societies, will afford the opportunity of an International Meeting of major interest for studying and exchanging about all the problems relative to pesticide usage in the whole Environment. The City of Aix and the Europôle Méditeerranéen de l’Arbois, both in the heart of the Provence, will gratify the attendants of the Colloquium, with all the advantages of a prestigious site and a complete scientific environment. Lectures will be given in French, English, Italian or Spanish; at least, a simultaneous translation will be made in English. Posters will be presented exclusively in English.. Abstracts for the program will be made in English (as far as possible), in the format indicated below. So will be the corresponding full texts (posters and lectures) for the proceeding edition. Call for papers: You are invited to submit abstracts on topics within the scope of the colloquium, in English as far as possible, in the format Ms Word 97 (or lower), and rigorously following the model given on the Web page. Authors of accepted contributions (February 15th) will be invited to submit final manuscripts before April 15th, for publication in the proceedings that will be distributed to all the Colloquium attendants.
Program: The Colloquium CROP PROTECTION will bring together representatives of Governmental and Institutional Organisations, Industries and Universities from all of the Mediterranean Countries and concerned by pesticide usage management and control. Five full conferences presented by internationally known specialists, will introduce and animate the debates relative to the topics selected for the Colloquium. Oral presentations of 15 to 20 min duration and posters, will provide opportunities for complete information and exchanges relative to the presented works. An integral part of the Colloquium will be devoted to an international technical exhibition of equipment and instrumentation. PHYTOPHARMA 2003 Award The Phytopharma 2003 Award will be given by GFP, to the winner of the competition organised in order to distinguish the best PhD thesis defended in 2002, in a French University, and featuring in Pesticide Sciences. E-mail: <coste@univ-perp.fr> “DISCOVERING and TRAINING” 2003 Grants The « Discovering and Training » 2003 grants will be awarded to distinguish young pre-doc or post-doc researchers selected by the corresponding MGPR commission. Applicants will be affiliated to the MGPR and working in the field of Pesticides in Food or the Environment. Granted people will be funded for a one month training stay in the MGPR network Laboratory of their choice. Main Topics: * New analytical methods. Crop quality * Bio-pesticides * Environmental impact and transfers * European and Mediterranean policies. * Health effects; Toxicity and eco-toxicity tests. * Metabolisation, metabolites.
