Zero Waste to Landfill Initiative • Recycling of Reman plastic car parts to recycling • Recycling of oils and lubricants • Energy efficient hand dryer installation • Pilot of ICE Recycling – Kick-off July 15th • Creation of sorting area • Taylor containers to departments’ needs and provide visuals • 48% decrease in waste to landfill in 1st 2 weeks • Eliminate majority of trash compactor hauls and cost • No cost ICE full-time employee and forklift on-site • Combined loads to increase available square footage

Need to catch 100% empty cans in metal drums and bring to ICE area when full. - Styrofoam - You currently are handling (door 19) - All paper (including office paper, magazines, phone books, newspapers, labels, wax paper label backing, napkins (with no food or bodily fluids) - 55 gallon bins - Cardboard - <Green Carts> - Plastic drink bottles - 55 gallon bins - Brown wrap paper - <Green Carts> - Aluminum cans - 55 gallon bins - Mixed plastic strapping - <Green Carts> - Clear film (plastic baggies, stretch wrap, plastic bags) - <Green Carts> - Colored film (plastic baggies, stretch wrap, grocery bags) - 55 gallon bins - Mixed rigid plastic (buckets, tubs, loose or broken parts, any miscellaneous hard plastic) - 55 gallon bins

  15. THE FIRST STEP TO OUR RECYCLING IMPLEMENTATION WAS TO EVALUATE WHAT MATERIALS WERE LEFT OVER AFTER A NORMAL DAY OF PRODUCTION. WE ACCOMPLISHED THIS BY INSTRUCTING OPERATORS TO NOT EMPTY THEIR TRASH AT THE END OF THE DAY. WE THEN WENT STATION BY STATION AND SORTED WHAT IS NORMALLY THROWN AWAY INTO WHAT WAS REALLY TRASH VS WHAT COULD BE RECYCLED. THE FOLLOWING SLIDES SHOW THE EVIDENCE OF THE SORTING PROCESS.
