  5. GUIDING PRINCIPLES • Encourage coworkers • Report unsafe conditions • Nothing we do is worth getting hurt • Occupational health & safety is everyone’s responsibility

  6. ZERO ACCIDENTS IS OUR GOAL! We need toFOCUSon our target ofZERO! We can have a workplace that is injury free, if we each commit and do our part to make it happen! Maintain a proactive & positive approach to safety!

  7. WHAT IS PROACTIVE? √ Fix simple hazards - pick up pallet pieces & clean up spills (If you’re qualified to do so) √Report the complex hazards - machine guarding or lockout/tagout issues √Keep your work area neat and clean √Adhere to safety policies

  8. WHAT IS PROACTIVE? √Keep walking and working surfaces free from debris or electrical cords that could create a hazard √ Keep fire extinguishers, electrical panels and exits unblocked √Keep hands out of equipment – use cycle stop

  9. WHAT IS PROACTIVE? √No shortcuts - Don’t rush your work √Always be aware of your environment √Keep lines of communication open √Lead by example √ Coach/Help fellow employees √If in doubt – ASK

  10. FOCUS ON SAFETY • Your well-being is important to yourself and your family • Start with an individual promise to yourself to act and work safely • Take responsibility for your safety and the safety of your co-workers
