  2. Forbidden Love! Romeo and Juliet could never live “happily ever after” for many reasons. Their families hated each other, Juliet was destined to marry Paris, they were both too young to secretly marry and Romeo was banished from Verona for killing Juliet’s cousin. This was not a marriage made in heaven,.

Romeo and Juliet Summary • Shakespeare in his classic literature uses characters that are relevant in our lives today. • I see the connection between the conflicts, issues and dilemmas in classic literature and how they relate to our lives today. • The characters and plots are as important today as in the past, both in real life and in all types of literature .

  5. Why is Romeo and Juliet a classic? Many of the values we think are important today were relevant during Shakespearian times. These values are: FRIENDHSIP SOCIAL CLASS TRUE LOVE FATE PREJUDICE ADOLESCENCE
