An Internship... Involves making a short termcommitment to an organization to gain valuable experience and exposure in a field of interest • May be part time or full time • May be paid or volunteer • May or may not be for college credit • Help expand internship listings: encourage your employer & other contacts to recruit from WWU • Assist your student to make connections thru acquaintances and professional network
Coaching Tips for Parents • Encourage connecting with the CSC at the beginning of the senior year • Promote making early inquiry about grad programs/schools; assistantships, fellowships and scholarships • Assist your student to identify networking opportunities for their job search • Consider cash/gift certificates for purchase of professional attire
