SHS ROBOTOTES Mechanical Electrical Programming • Assembles the body of the robot; keeps the robot in one piece • Tries to establish connections with local businesses and organizations who can fund us • Wires up all the parts of the robot, makes sure the robot will actually work • Keeps up to date with everyone supporting us, tries to get more SHS support • Writes and tests all the code that controls the robot, and the autonomous mode • They’re the one’s who run this thing, and they’re basically the coolest people ever • Groups Fundraising Publicity Mentors
Mechanical • Mechanical team assembles the robot’s frame • Works in a metal shop, making the metal the robot needs • Makes sure nothing falls off the robot • (we lose bolts and nuts like crazy) SHS ROBOTOTES
Electrical • Puts everything on the frame • Is in charge of the boards on the robot, the operator interface, all wiring on the robot, communication between the robot and the driver, and making sure wires don’t fall off and get ran over by the robot in the middle of a practice competition… • Brandon and Wade are the main leaders SHS ROBOTOTES
Programming • Controls all the robot does, which should hopefully correspond to what the driver is telling it to do • Is in charge of the 15 second autonomous period before each match • Codes in C/C++ • Kasra’s the main coder SHS ROBOTOTES
Fundraising • Robots cost money, a lot of money • $6000 for registration • $3500 is the maximum amount FIRST lets teams spend on off-the-shelf items • Random amounts of money needed for driving to competition (It was in Tacoma this year), hotels, food, so on SHS ROBOTOTES
