  5. What is Working at Heights • Any work where, if no control measures were in place to prevent a person from falling, a person could fall a distance likely to cause injury or death. “WAH is a high risk activity!” Empowering Progress

Ministry Labor and Social Development statistics 2017. • 352 worksite accidents were reported. 2/3 Failed to report. • 20 Deaths in the Construction industry 13 were FALL from HEIGHTS • 50% of those fatalities were under 3 meters. • ALL WERE PEVENTABLE. Dec 2017 • BAPCO Working at Height Standard was published on 6th December. June 2018 • The WAH computer based training CBT was launched for Bapco Staff. (Refinery and Operations Depts, is compulsory) • Bapco Contractor Safety Officers will deliver face to face training. • Campaigns WAH and CSE. Empowering Progress

  9. Exercise Emergency Procedure…. • In the event of an Emergency Bapco Staff are trained to call 5555 internally or 1775 5555 from outside….. • This will be patched directly to our Bapco Emergency Services, Security, Medical, Fire Health and Safety….. Empowering Progress

Jack to Martin • JW This is Bapco Fire Dept what is your emergency? • MP This is Martin….One of my men have fallen from a scaffold and I see smoke coming from the building…. • JW Ok please calm down Martin, What is your location? • MP We are at the Wyndam Grand Hotel in the Carpark and I see smoke coming from the 45th Floor… • JW What? • MP There is a FIRE up there!!!! • JW OK, Martin don’t panic! your at the WyndamGrand Hotel, one man has fallen, and there is smoke on the 45th Floor… stay on the line, were on the way. • MP Yes, Please Hurry.
