What are Infections • Infection is what happens when germs enter the body, multiply, and cause harm or illness. • Infections that develop in people who have cancer or are getting cancer treatment can be more serious than those in people who are otherwise healthy. • Infections are caused by microorganisms such as viruses, prions, bacteria, and larger organisms like fungi.

  3. Fungus Infection • Many fungal infections, of humans and animals affect only the outer layers of skin, and although they are sometimes difficult to cure, they are not considered dangerous.
