  1. Senior English 2/3/14 • Failure is an opportunity to begin again more intelligently. Henry Ford. • How did Dracula come to America? • De-bag – to pants someone. Goals – Analyze how watching a movie can be “authentic intellectual work.” Discuss the unexamined life. Clicker activity. Jury duty. Homework – Write a paragraph or more defending your postion on jury duty. Don’t forget to study for the Vocabulary 20 on Friday.

Senior English 2/4/14 • We can all think of examples of justice gone wrong; however, is our legal system working as well as it can in your opinion? • What did Mary have for dinner? • Grotty – shabby, inferior. Goals – Continue 12 Angry Men. Discuss the issues raised about our justice system by the types of jurors represented. Discuss the weaknesses of the jury system. Homework – Write a paragraph about constitutional rights that are endangered by biased jurors.

What do you know about the connection between race, crime, and incarceration in the U.S.? • What has four legs, is big , green, fuzzy, and if it fell out of a tree would kill you. • Layabout – a hobo or bum. Goals – Discuss objectivity and subjectivity. Clarify understanding of legal terminology. Homework – Read the web page I showed you in class today. Write a brief analysis of the data. Use text based evidence to support your analysis.

Goals – Read and analyze the article provided. Discuss how it relates to them movie and your life. Homework – None, except complete any work you didn’t finish in class and get ready for quiz 20.
