Module 11 PS M4110 Management <Place supporting graphic here>
Module Objectives: • Connect using each of the four management methods • Connect the PS-M4110 to different fabrics • Describethe difference between the in band and out of band deployment methods • Joining a Multi-member Group using External Arrays
There are four management methods used to connect to a member. 1 Group Manager 2 Serial Console Ports 3 Telnet / SSH 4 M1000e CMC / iDRAC
Connect To M4110 iDRAC via CMC • M1000e CMC Login • Default login=root • Default password = calvin • No O/S required • No agents to install
Telnet to CMC • Telnet to the IP address of the CMC and login
Connect To PS-M4110 • Connect to the iDRAC port of the PS-M4110 with a RACADM command • Connect server-x (x=slot number) • Login to the member to issue PS-Series cli commands
Change the Fabric • If the member is already installed you can change the fabric it communicates on.
Configure Array • Click configure array to change the fabric
Select the Fabric • Select the fabric and click apply

In-Band Deployment/ManagementNew – CMC setup option External EqualLogic Group SAN Port • M4110 deployed from CMC Console Interface – Management Workstation • M4110 managed from EqualLogic Group Manager - Host Server 1 2
Out of Band Deployment/ManagementNew – CMC setup option External EqualLogic Group Management Port SAN Port • M4110 deployed from CMC Console Interface – Management Workstation • M4110 management port enabled from CMC RACADM – Management Workstation • M4110 managed from EqualLogic Group Manager – Management Workstation 1 2 3
Managing the Array with Group Manager and Multi-Member Groups
Managing the Array with Group Manager • Managing a PS-M4110 array using the same tools as other arrays. • Familiar tools and process as all PS series arrays
Group Manager GUI Requirements • Optimum screen size at least 1024 x 768 screen resolution • Browsers supported • Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher • Firefox 3.6 or higher • Safari 5 or higher • Google Chrome12 or higher • Requires Oracle (Sun) Java 1.6.x (java6) or 1.7.x higher (java7)
