PATROL Objective Expand the role of the Border Liaison Offices (BLO) to improve cross-border cooperation in the fight against : • Environmental crimes (wildlife crime) • Smuggling of Migrants (and TiP) • Other forms of TOC
Activities Identifying trafficking hot spots and establishing BLOs Providing equipment and training courses on Transnational Organized Crime and Wildlife Crime Cross-border meetings to identify standard operating procedures Monitoring performance of BLOs
Achievements Several border officers trained on the issue of Wildlife Crime Wildlife Trafficking understood as a serious form of Transnational Organized Crime Multi-agency cooperation largely increased (e.g. rhino case in Cambodia)
