What are we about? • The project is based on animals that are used for entertainment purposes. • Topics we touched on were: -Movie/T.V. Sets -Circuses -Animal Fights - Zoos -Rodeos
What were our steps? • We selected a specific topic: Animals for Entertainment • We asked, “What is the problem we are trying to solve?” • We made a plan • We researched, interviewed and emailed for valid information to work with. • We thought up a plan for a solution • Created budget plan to make our solution possible.

Animal Fights: • Dog fights • Cock fights • Hog-dog fights • Bull fights • Dog release fights "Thinking that if you watch an animal fight you can't get in any trouble. But you’d be mistaken, you get arrested, fined, and jail time for watching animal fights too! It’s because of the viewers that there are animal fights in the first place, without the money and encouragement owners get from the viewers they would have no reason to do any type of animal fights." (Officer C.)
Circuses: • Cage size is very insufficient for animals • Trained using fear of punishment • Every major circus has received a citation • No such thing as “positive reinforcement” in circuses
Zoos: • Pitiful prisons • Entertainment, not education • Born free, sold out. • What can you do?
Movie/T.V. Sets: • Animals are involved into show business sometimes voluntary or involuntary • They are subjected to abuse because they have to perform in ways that are not normal for them • Careless monitoring of animals on set can lead to them being injured or killed • The problems of keeping a wild animal on set is providing them what they need…. Is space, food, and being able to be their own self.
Rodeos: • What do we see at the rodeo? • What is used or done to make the animals seem so “wild”. • Some outcomes of the rodeo • What you can do and what can’t be exactly done
Traveling/Petting Zoos: • Veterinary Care • Low expectations on regulations • Results of traveling/petting zoo • What you can do.
Our Plans to Help: • Our group has two main goals, both by fundraising in various ways to raise money for the Austin Zoo. The Austin Zoo is a non-profit organization that rescues animals from abuse categorized situations. • Long Term: Give the money to the zoo for a animalpen ($5,000-$15,000) • Short Term: Give the money to the zoo to provide veterinary care ($1,000)
Our Solutions: • Fundraisers to Raise Money • Bake Sale (sweet treats or animal treats) • Have a Party • Donations • Also, To Raise Awareness, • Flyers • Facebook Page • Wordpress blog
