Society History • 1961 - Organized • 1966 - Affiliated w/ AHA • 1993 - Established independent Society • 2001-2006 – Grew society throughaddition of other organizations • 2001: CHIM—corporate members • 2002: CPRI-HOST—focus on EHRs • 2003: MS-HUG—developers & IT pros • 2004: Dorenfest—created data services co. • 2006: AFEHCT – focus on the business end of healthcare • 2005 – Expanded focus beyond U.S.
Society Today • 300 Corporate Members • 20,000 Individual Members • 45 Chapters • 3 corporations, over 110 Staff • Locations: • Chicago, IL; Ann Arbor, MI; Washington, DC • $31 million annual budget
