First Impression Prominent Logo; no search or menu Unclear location First piece of information
Which Store? Apparel Website Abby Lee Home Page
It’s Blank! That’s a first, or second, or perhaps third… Blank section of Abby Lee home page
No organized schedules What Style? Success stories randomly placed Harsh color combinations
… Yes, Format Too Formatting is inconsistent Too much information grouped together Information, once deciphered, is not helpful to consumers
What did test users have to say about the Abby Lee Dance Company website?
“ A lot of scrolling has to be done here. Just saying. “ “I’m having trouble finding the Summer Studio Schedule.” “Oh, I must have overlooked that.” “Would not go to studio due to website.” “I think this thing needs one of those little index things at the top…” “Get someone of at least high school age to remake your webpage.”
Solutions • Add search bar /menu for easy navigation • Include "About Us" or "Locate Us" option in the menu so consumers can locate studio • Make class schedules & prices prominent or easy to locate • Separate page for company associates’ biographies, accomplishments, tours, etc. • Use playful headings to reflect the fun culture of the company, but use professional formatting throughout the website (font, colors, etc.)
