BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND It is termed as ONE of the SEVEN HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE by Mr.STEPHEN R.COVEY The habit is “BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND” It means TO START WITH A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR DESTINATION
BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND It means to know where we are now to know where we are moving towards so that all steps taken by us are always towards the right direction. Usually, we can find people work hard, very hard to climb the ladder of success but later discover that the ladder is leaning against a wrong wall. It means “VERY BUSY WITHOUT EFFECTIVENESS”.
BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND It is based on the basis of principle that “ALL THINGS ARE CREATED TWICE” First is MENTAL CREATION (VISUALISATION) Second is PHYSICAL CREATION (ACTUAL DOING) Example is CONSTRUCTION OF A HOME
BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND The most effective way to begin with the end in mind is to have a PERSONAL MISSION STATEMENT. PERSONAL MISSION STATEMENT focuses on What we want to be What to do The personal mission statement is like a personal constitution.
Accepting targets & working to achieve it A mission statement is nothing but a TARGET and WAYS TO ACHIEVE IT. To achieve the target, first we have to accept the target, then visualise the achievement and finally achieve it.
Accepting targets & working to achieve it The mission statement changes you because it forces you to think through your priorities deeply, carefully and to align your behaviour with your belief. As you do, other people begin to sense that you are not being driven by everything that happens to you.

For effectiveness of the organisations, every staff of the organisation should participate to achieve the goal / target i.e. the involvement process is the key to success. Ex: Experience of the author in a hotel.

One of the main things his research showed was that almost all of the world class athletes and other peak performers are VISUALIZERS. THEY SEE IT; THEY FEEL IT; THEY EXPERIENCE IT BEFORE THEY ACTUALLY DO IT. They ACCEPTED THE TARGET (CHALLENGE) AND STRIVE HARD TO ACHIEVE IT. We can also do it every area of our life.

Visualise the implementation of the mission statement and thus the achievement of the target. Implement mission statement in your life ensuring that all your activities are focusing on achieving your goal / target. Simply, ALWAYS BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND.
