Let Man Overcome Anger by Love • Overcome evil by good. • Hatred ceases by non- hatred. • Speak the truth. • Don't give in to anger. • Give when asked. • "Lead others, not by violence, but by righteousness and equity." • "Misery will overtake the evil-doer without fail."
Matthew 5-7 • Blessed are the peacemakers. • Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. • Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness. • Righteousness that surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law. • Do not murder. • Settle matters and disputes by immediately going to court. • Give to anyone who asks. • "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."
My Faith in Nonviolence • Love is the key. • Truth is vital. • The law of love will work. • The force of nonviolence is more wonderful than nature. • Those involved in nonviolent training will have shown "personal bravery of a type Far superior to that shown in armed warfare." • "In each case the bravery consists in dying, not in killing." • "There is no such thing as defeat in nonviolent resistance." • Violence is hate.
Similarities • In the end, nonviolence will win. • Love conquers all. • Righteousness is key in nonviolence. • Truth and peace are key aspects. • Nonviolence requires superior bravery.
