  4. Imagine what might happen if you started out on a roadtrip without a map or a GPS. • Unless you had a keen sense of direction, you’d likely get lost. • The same thing can happen with writing. ? Point A PREWRITING IS YOUR ROAD MAP. Point B Why do we prewrite?

  5. Two common types of prewriting are brainstorming and jot lists, and the two are very similar. • Brainstorming occurs when individuals share thoughts and ideas. It usually occurs in a group. • Jot listing occurs when an individual creates a list of items associated with a topic (i.e. memories from prom). Types of Prewriting
