Describe Where They Lived • The land was very grassy,and plain • Most Great Plains Indians lived in Dakota,Minnesota, Nebraska,Saskatchewan, Kansas,Oklahoma • The Plains Tribe lived in tepees, and earthlodges • A reason why the land effected them was because they had more land to grow crops, and hunt for bufffalo
How Did They Choose To Live • Some of the food resources would have been buffalo, and corn. • The way they would of got water would have been getting a canteen. • The way the Plains Tribe had gotten shelter was probably get tall poles to make a tepee. • The way the Indians had gotten all of these things to live was very hard to earn.
Facts • It was all up to women to place where the tepees can be placed. • Inside a tepee there would be a little flap where smoke would come out from cooking. • When a Sioux warriors had traded there spears, and bow and arrows they would trade for guns. • The Plains Tribe had often paint there weapons. • Seven large tribes made up the Sioux Nation- Wdewakanton, Sisseton, Teton, Wanpekute, Yankton, and Yanktonia.
Comparison Of Native Tribes To Today • Difference- Less technology than today. • Difference- Long time ago Indians would fight for everybody to be the same. • Same- Some people still make clothes out of thread. • Same-Today people still trade for resources.
Wrap Up • We have learned that the Plains Tribe are mostly the same as other tribes. • How did the Plains Tribe had picked the Plains Tribe? • The Plains Tribe had worked with each other. • Why did the Plains Tribe pick to live in the Midwest?
