  1. How to Create a PowerPoint Created by: L. Chang Heeia Elementary January 2011

  2. Before beginning, please make sure your computer has this PowerPoint program installed.

  3. Find & click-on the green “Start” button, located on the bottom left corner of your screen. Next, locate & click-on “All Programs.”

  4. Some computers may have the PowerPoint Program located on the left-hand side, above the “All Programs” section, in the “All Programs” section, or as a shortcut on the desktop.

  5. First, click on the “Home” tab, on the upper left hand corner of the screen. Click-on “Layout” and choose one of the ready-made design templates and layout for your slides, as shown in the sample below.

  6. After selecting your design template & layout, choose your font style and size. You may change the color of your font as well. Now, you are ready to start typing your text.

  7. If you want to add a picture, image, clip art, or chart, click-on the “Insert” tab and select what you would like to add.

  8. Now, you can start creating each slide of your PowerPoint Presentation. When you are ready to make a new slide,go to the “Home” tab & click-on “New Slide” to add/create a new slide.

  9. Remember…When creating your PowerPoint presentation, keep it short, simple, and organized. Include visuals like charts, illustrations, and diagrams to help your audience understand what you are talking about.

  10. Now, let’s review what you’ve just learned.

  11. If you answer correctly, a Happy Face animation will appear. • If not, another picture will appear & give you the correct answer for the following True or False questions.
